Rukhsar Ansari
HR Administrator – Lumera India"Every day is a new adventure, balancing diverse HR responsibilities in an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative workplace, with endless opportunities to learn and make a real difference."
What is your workday like at Lumera as HR Administrator?
A typical workday? No such thing – every day is different; every day is a new adventure. I am Juggling a million things at once – from recruiting to making sure everyone feels valued and supported; from onboarding to employee engagement. One minute working on payroll the next crafting company policies. It’s challenging but incredibly rewarding. It’s a rollercoaster of responsibilities but the thrill of building a happy, productive workplace is unmatched. A portion of my day is allocated to looking after the HR inbox dealing with any queries that comes in and responding to those. I’ll be the first person you would hear from if you would like to join us!
How would you describe Lumera as a workplace in just a few words?
INCLUSIVE (in CAPS, because it’s one of the things I like most about Lumera), supportive, collaborative, fun and challenging.
What do you find most beneficial for your professional growth in this role?
I would say my job is rewarding because I genuinely enjoy interacting with competent people from across the company to collaborate and share knowledge. It’s always really satisfying when I feel like I have made a difference. In collaboration with different departments, I am constantly trying to ensure that we have the best benefit or solution or something new to offer our people. I have an opportunity to get involved in other aspects of the company like DEI and ESG which has helped me constantly gaining a deeper understanding of different things.
What do you do when you are not working at Lumera?
I cherish spending time with my family – especially with my nephews as they bring endless joy to my life, I enjoy reading books and binge-watching Korean dramas.
What advice would you give a future team member?
Be nosey in the sense that you should always ask questions and find out what it’s all about – if you don’t ask, you won’t know! Always take the initiative to learn new things, as knowledge is everywhere, and it will help you grow both professionally and personally.
