Jaco Stevens
Service Delivery Manager – Lumera Netherlands"I enjoy conducting knowledge sessions to ensure everyone stays updated on specific subjects through colleague-led presentations."
As a Service Delivery Manager at Lumera Netherlands, what does your typical workday look like?
I work mostly from home, which eliminates travel time and traffic jams. Before starting, I grab a cup of coffee and check my agenda for the day. My day consists of consultations with our clients. I manage several funds and am involved in a couple of (implementation) projects. I also have many internal meetings with my colleagues about how we can serve our clients in the best way. I usually spend one day a week at our headquarters in Utrecht. There I have meetings, but also the social aspect is an important part of the day. Once a month, we have our employee’s day at the office where everyone is present.
What do you find most beneficial for your professional growth in this role?
The most rewarding part of my work is the interaction with people - both clients and colleagues – and collaborating to achieve the desired result. This can be challenging due to the complexity of pension matters in the Netherlands.
How would you describe Lumera as a workplace in just a few words?
Working at Lumera is energizing because you are responsible for your own tasks. “Work hard, play hard” is what they say, and that is true at Lumera. Even though we often work from home, Lumera truly functions as a team. Although colleagues may be far apart, they are always there to support and help each other.
What do you do when you are not working at Lumera?
Since I work from home, I enjoy taking walks in between, especially to Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site. I am a big fan of both watching and participating in football and cycling. I am also involved in the local football club where I coach two teams. I am also a proud father of three children and enjoy spending time with my family. To end the day, I like to relax with a good drink and tasty snacks.
What advice would you give a future team member?
Embrace initiatives from the start and actively search for ways to contribute to both your team and the organization. Be curious, ask questions, and continuously seek to enhance your skills and knowledge. This proactive attitude will make a significant difference in your journey with us.
