What is your workday at Lumera like?

My work – modelling the beautiful application called Lumera AxyLife for several clients – varies between “run” (existing clients) and “change” (implementation of new clients). Although we all work from home, I can always find a colleague to support me if necessary. In addition, my husband also works at Lumera, so I’m always in good company 😊. Once a month we all gather in Utrecht so we can talk to each other in person and have dinner together.

What do you find most beneficial for your professional growth in this role?

I like puzzles, so I’m in the right place at Lumera. We all have our own specialization, but we complement each other and share our knowledge all the time. That supportive team spirit is very nice about my job.

How would you describe the culture?

It’s engaged and inclusive. The company is not only busy with what they do best, but cares about lots of other things like sustainability, a safe working environment, diversity in personnel. From what I see, Lumera always tries to get the right people in the right position, regardless of gender, ethnicity or whatever.

What do you do when you are not working?

I love to read books and watch movies (mostly sci-fi and fantasy); to do sports at the gym and to walk outside. I am also a basketball coach; I coach children aged ten to 20. Now, do not think that – because I am a basketball coach – I am a tall woman. Not even close 😉!
