Markus Wahlgren
Application Consultant – Lumera Sweden“The most developmental aspect of my job is the freedom to shape my development path.”
Why did you decide to join Lumera?
I was initially contacted by Lumera on LinkedIn, and at that point, I had not heard about Lumera before. However, during the recruitment process, I got a good impression of Lumera as it seemed to consist of very competent and supportive people nurturing a good culture.
Can you describe a typical workday as an Application Consultant at Lumera?
My workdays vary. Some are filled with internal and external meetings discussing the details of the system implementation. Other days consist of more solitary focused tasks, such as configuration or troubleshooting. During the days, I interact with other Application Consultants and Test Engineers within the project, as well as colleagues from the customer team. I also engage with Business Analysts from competence teams, development teams and occasionally the support department. These interactions help us share insights and work together effectively on project tasks.
What do you find most beneficial for your professional growth in this role?
The most developmental aspect of my job is the freedom to shape my development path. It is possible to take on more responsibilities at a fast pace if you want to, and Lumera encourages you to do that and trusts you with that responsibility at an early step in your career. Furthermore, you also have control over the direction of the development where you can grow your knowledge about the system, the more technical aspects of the job, or the more customer-oriented aspects of the job. For me, this has meant that only a couple of years after graduating I have been able to take several big steps within Lumera and have become solely responsible for the implementation of several areas of the system in an implementation project.
