Subject Matter Expert Workplace Pension (DC)

As we expand our presence in the UK, we are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Workplace Pensions (Defined Contribution) to join our growing team in London.
The role
As a Subject Matter Expert in Workplace Pensions, you will play a central role in transforming how enterprise clients in the UK manage and deliver pension schemes. You will combine your deep domain knowledge of UK pensions regulation, scheme administration, and the evolving landscape of defined contribution workplace pensions with Lumera’s technology to drive meaningful change.
You will be the trusted advisor who translates regulatory requirements and market complexities into practical, future-proof solutions. By supporting both clients and internal teams, you will ensure that Lumera’s offerings not only meet compliance standards but also set new benchmarks for efficiency, transparency, and member outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter authority on UK Workplace Pensions (DC), supporting clients, partners, and colleagues.
- Translate complex pensions regulations and scheme requirements into actionable business and technical specifications for Lumera’s platform.
- Support transformation projects, from onboarding to configuration and large-scale change programs.
- Anticipate, monitor, and interpret regulatory and market developments, ensuring Lumera remains compliant, competitive, and innovative.
- Contribute to thought leadership by sharing expertise on emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory change.
- Working in partnership with commercial and product management teams to shape Lumera’s roadmap and deliver transformative capabilities.
Your background
- Extensive experience in UK pensions, with proven expertise in Defined Contribution workplace pensions.
- Strong knowledge of UK pensions regulation, scheme design, governance, and administration.
- Experience from consultancy, pensions administration, providers, or technology vendors.
- Ability to demystify complex regulatory and operational challenges for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage complexity.
- A collaborative mindset, comfortable working across functions and geographies.
- A passion for transforming the pensions industry and achieving better outcomes for members.
