Lucia Chumman
Modeller – Lumera NetherlandsWhat is your workday like at Lumera?
I work from home; 5 days a week. I start between 8.00 and 9.00 am. I work for several clients; my work (modelling in the beautiful application called AxyLife) varies between “run” (existing clients) and “change” (implementation of new clients). Although we all work from home, I always can find a colleague to whom I can turn to for consult if necessary. In addition, my husband also works at Lumera, so I’m always in good company 😊. Once a month we all gather in Utrecht so we can talk to each other in person and have dinner together.
What is the most developmental aspect of your job?
My work is always challenging and brain teasing. I like puzzles, so I’m in the right place at Lumera. We all have our own specialization. So we complement each other and that is very nice about my job.
How would you describe Lumera as a workplace in just a few words?
Lumera is committed and inclusive. The company is not only busy with what they do best, but they care about lots of other things, like: sustainability, safe working environment, diversity in personnel. From what I see: Lumera always tries to get the right people at the right position, regardless of gender, ethnicity or whatever.
What do you do when you are not working at Lumera?
I love to read books and look films (mostly sci-fi and fantasy), to sport at the gym and to walk outside. I am also a basketball coach; I coach children in the age of 10 to 20. Now, do not think that – because I am a basketball coach – I am a tall woman. Not even close 😉!
